As Southern California’s most trusted firearms training service, Inland Firearms Training is state-certified and approved to conduct the class required by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Upland, Ontario, Murrieta, Hemet, Banning, Beaumont, and other jurisdictions to obtain your California CCW. Within two days, you can get your California Concealed Carry Weapon’s training from our Law-Enforcement Certified Instructors!
We’re pleased to offer these classes to any individual regardless of gender, though please keep in mind that they are intended for adults only, and that rule will be strictly enforced. It’s also worth noting that these classes are not for those interested in rifle or shotgun safety. The California CCW class is for handguns only.
The California CCW class is a 16-hour class spread over two days. In these two days, Inland Firearms Training aims to equip you with basic firearms concepts, guidelines for safe gun-handling, and tips for responsible firearm usage. Through a mixture of both classroom discussion and practical application, we will adequately prepare you for that coveted California Concealed Carry Weapon permit.
The first portion of the class will be spent as an independent online study class. Inland Firearms Training covers each of the required topics as part of obtaining a California CCW permit. Items covered on lectures include:
- Safety rules
- Common mistakes people make
- Handgun types and functions, strengths and weaknesses
- Fundamentals of shooting
- Drawing and recovering to the holster
- Reloading types and techniques
- Unsupported Shooting
- Clearing malfunctions
- Engaging multiple targets
- Shooting on the move
- Target-focused shooting
- Other shooting positions
- Care, cleaning, and maintenance
- California Law as it relates to possession, transport, and carriage
- The use of a handgun for self-defense, including:
- Justification for deadly force
- Property Claims
- What to do if involved in a shooting
- Post-shooting trauma
- Interaction with Law-Enforcement
- Places where firearms are prohibited
- Traveling with handguns
- Responsibilities when armed
- Methods for de-escalating confrontations
- Home storage requirements and penalties
- Range Safety rules
A summary of each lesson will be provided to ensure a solid foundation of understanding on the participants’ part.
We go on to the range for the application of the California CCW firearms practical experience requirements. This day-long activity will entail the following:
- Practice of basic gun-handling skills, both with empty weapons and live fire
- One-on-one sessions with instructors to identify and rectify errors
- Reinforcement of new firearm procedures using the building-block technique
Before the day ends, our instructors will explain other techniques taught by other trainers and sort out which make the most sense. The class is listed on the site as the Advanced Handgun Class. Applicants are required to demonstrate the safe handling, firing, reloading, and securing of their firearms. The qualification course of fire is completed with each handgun listed on the California CCW application. Details will be provided upon receipt of registration.
The California CCW Renewal class is a maximum 4-hour course
For those renewing their California CCW, Inland Firearms Training is offering a Renewal Class. The course will last for a maximum of four hours and will review important handgun handling basics, firearm handling as stated in California Law, and other concepts relating to firearms. The class will conclude with a re-qualification course of fire with each handgun listed on the California CCW.
This California CCW class meets the requirements of Ontario, Upland, Murrieta, Hemet, Banning, Beaumont, as well as other jurisdictions to obtain your California CCW Permit. Please confirm with your authority having jurisdiction for their requirements. The taking of this class does not guarantee your receipt of a California CCW Permit.
The Fees for the Class are;
- $175.00 Per individual for the Initial Class
- $100.00 Per individual for the Renewal Class
- $25.00 for the addition or modification for firearms listed with your CCW Permit.

Once you have completed the checkout process and your payment is received, you will get a confirmation email with instructions on how and where we meet for the range, as well as any other information specific to the class.
You will need to complete one course Liabilty Waiver Form for each student attending and if you have paid by credit card either online or over the phone please remember to bring a copy of the completed enrollment / waiver form with you on the day of the class.
